On this page I have posted a work in the steps it took to create the final vision.

stuck with version 4, Money!

Using several different graphic editors
The image is transformed into a sphere.

Here you can see that the whole background has been mapped into a spherical shape. Part of the background is then erased in order to create the illusion that the sphere is the main focus and the bands of blue distracted that view.

It is starting to look like Art.

The addition of glowing stars inside and out creates that realistic Sci-Fi look that I was trying to achieve.
